Real Madrid star and Portuguese captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has finally confirmed that he welcomed twin boys while taking part in the Confederations Cup with the Portuguese national team.
Portugal were knocked out of the Confederations Cup on Wednesday through a penalty shootout that saw them lose to Chile 3-0 after a goalless draw.
Ronaldo who was visibly disappointed by the result took to his Facebook page to make the announcement that he has indeed welcome twin boys and would not be taking part in the third place playoff match that will be taking place on Sunday.
‘I served my nation in the best way that I could and I did it with all my body and soul. Even though I had just welcomed two baby boys at the time” He explained on his official facebook page.
“It is quite unfortunate that we could not achieve our objective because we wanted to go all the way and bring glory to Portugal. But we fell short of this objective but I know we will always give our best to Portugal whenever we get the chance”.
He Paid Tribute To The National Team
“The attitude of the Portuguese Football Federation president has really touched me in ways that I never thought was possible. The entire national team have been incredibly supportive and I won’t forget how passionate they have all been to me in this time.”
“I am very happy that I finally get the chance to be with my kids for the first time since they were born and its an experience that I am looking forward to.
