Liverpool has reportedly refused a 100 million pounds offer from Barcelona for their playmaker, Phillipe Coutinho.
It had been reported earlier that Coutinho would move to Barcelona after Neymar’s exit but it was not up to around 24 hours ago that an official bid was made for the Brazilian.
Neymar’s exit has made Countinho the number one target for Barcelona as they plan to compliment the effort, Messi and Suarez, next season.
There were reports that a personal deal had been agreed between Coutinho and Barcelona but it seems his move away from Liverpool would be a lot harder than expected as the English club have now rejected an official offer from Barcelona.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager had revealed in the past stated that Coutinho is part of his plan and would not be leaving this summer.
The deal is made even more difficult by the fact that Coutinho only signed a new contract last season with no release clause added in the five-year contract.
Liverpool revealed that they won’t be having any discussion with Barcelona as they have no intention of letting the Brazilian leave this summer.
Barcelona Also Chasing Dembele
Barcelona is also linked to the signing of 20-year-old Ousmane Dembele of Borussia Dortmund who impressed last season for both club and country. The Spanish club has a transfer budget of over 200 million pounds and this is largely due to forced sale of Neymar to Paris Saint Germain.
