Former American athlete David Torrence was found dead in a pool in Arizona.
Torrence, 31, took home the silver medal at the world relay championship event in 2014 in the colours of the United States. He also participated at the Pan American Games where he finished in second place in 2015.

A year later he switched his allegiance to play for his country of origin Peru at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

The family of David Torrence are yet to release a statement regarding his demise but it is expected that one will be issued after his autopsy has been done.
