Arsenal’s defenders dilemma

It has been confirmed that Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista will miss the club’s FA Cup final clash against Chelsea iatWembley on Saturday as he has been ruled out for close to eight weeks.

The Brazilian-born defender was stretched out of the game between Arsenal and Everton after landing awkwardly and damaging his knee ligament in the process.

This is a big blow to Arsenal because Laurent Koscielny is also out of the game after Arsenal’s appeal to get his red card rescinded was rejected and Shkodran Mustafi is also not 100 percent fit for the game.

Mustafi has been out of the Gunners team after he suffered a concussion after a clash in the game against Sunderland two weeks again but a test is still being carried out to determine his fitness level before the game on Saturday.

Wenger’s dilemma

Arsene Wenger confirmed that Gabriel is out until August which rules him out of the against Chelsea and also revealed that they are waiting on a report from their medical team before taking a decision on Mustafi.
Laurent Koscielny was sent off in the game against Everton after a tackle on Everton forward, Enner Valencia, in the Gunners final game of the Premier League season which they won 3 -1.

Arsene Wenger has been under pressure all season and winning the FA cup could help in calming the nerves of supporters who are also calling for the head of Majority shareholder, Kroenke. Who stated some days back that he won’t be selling his majority stake in the club to fellow shareholder Usmanov, following a huge bid from the latter.

The Gunners also have contract issues to deal with as it as been widely reported that both Mezut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could leave in the summer if their demands are not met by the club’s hierarchy.
