Harry L. Bain, 83, Needmore, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at Emeritus Hospital in Hagerstown, Md., with his family by his side.
He was born September 1, 1931, in Cito, Pa., the son of the late John and Bessie (Seiders) Bain. He was married to Doris Jean Souders Bain on November 27, 1957.

He was a graduate of Mc- Connellsburg High School in 1951 where he played on the school soccer team.
He was a sergeant in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954, spending 18 months in Korea in charge of the base post office. He operated the B&B feed store in McConnellsburg from January 1, 1955, until March 1, 1959. He then moved to Thompson Township where he dairy farmed until 1973 when he went to work as an equipment operator for Union Equipment which is now New Enterprise where he retired in 1988. After retirement he enjoyed cutting firewood and restoring Farmall tractors, mostly Super C’s, until he had a stroke March 17, 2011.
He was a member of American Legion Post 561 and had been a member of VFW Post 655.
He attended Bedford Chapel Church at Dott.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Jean Bain, Needmore, and three children: Joyce L. Bain, Needmore; John H. Bain (husband of Sherry,) Needmore; and Cynthia A. Cook (wife of Tom), Gaithersburg, Md.; two granddaughters: Amanda K. McNamee, Needmore, and Samantha J. Bain (fiance of Cameron Smith), San Francisco, Calif.; one great-grandson, Zachary McNamee, Needmore; and one sister, Betty Lewis, McConnellsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Bain; and two brothers: Donald R. and Carl E. Bain.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in Mc- Connellsburg.
