Chan Covington Esposito

(March 29, 1943-April 21, 2009)

Chaney “Chan” Covington Esposito, 66, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2009, after a brief illness.  Born March 29, 1943, in Red Bay, Alabama, Chan was the daughter of John Covington and Ruth Covington.  After graduating from Fulton High School, Fulton, KY, Chan went on to attend Murray State University in Murray, KY.

Through the years, Chan lived in a number of places including Kentucky; Woodbridge, VA; Orlando, FL; Naples, Italy, and Virginia Beach, VA, where she had worked for Re/Max Allegiance as a Residential Specialist real estate agent since 1987, and served as secretary of the Kempsville Greens Civic League.

Chan leaves behind her husband, Victor M. Esposito; her son Todd R. Lannom and his fiancée Sara Young; her son Christopher J. Lannom and daughter-in-law Sarah A. Lannom; granddaughters Olivia A. Lannom and Sydney C. Lannom; her mother Ruth C. Covington of Fulton, KY; her sister Joanne Hoeft of Dexter, MI; her brother John Covington and wife Vicki Covington of Austin, TX; her brother Neil Covington of Dexter, MI; as well as several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, John Covington, of Fulton, KY.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith Williams Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, VA.   A memorial service and celebration of life will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Sandbridge Community Chapel at 3041 Sandpiper Road, Virginia Beach, VA, 23456.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to “Relay for Life” on behalf of the American Cancer Society in memory of Chan C. Esposito.



Robert graduated from Brandman University, where he got his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Born in Massachusetts, Robert’s family moved to Kentucky in 2005 where he spent his college life and worked as an insurance agent for four years. Now is the founder and team leader of the website.
