Fulton, KY – Gina Leath, CNO of Parkway Regional Hospital has been honored with an Excellence in Leadership Award by Community Health Systems, one of the nation’s leading operators of general acute-care hospitals. The organization’s affiliates include Parkway Regional Hospital and 134 other hospitals in 29 states. The award recognizes hospital leaders who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to quality healthcare and operational excellence.
Leath joined Parkway Regional Hospital in December 2014. She has been a nurse for 20 years and in nursing administration for 14 of those years. Since joining Parkway, she has led its health information technology efforts to improve efficiencies, utilizing evidence-based practice to support quality and patient safety. Leath was a critical component of the hospital’s achievement of 100% core measures in 2015, and has helped heighten patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction, along with promoting patient-centered visitation. She was also instrumental in beginning the hospital’s cardiac stress testing program and PICC services.
She has a Nurse Executive Board Certification and a Critical Care Certification, along with a MSN in leadership and management. Leath is also a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, and was selected as the speaker of the 2015 Rural Health Project in Tunica, MS, presenting customer service, leadership and collaboration within departments.
